I usually tell others that Grandchildren are the reward for having not killed your children (during the teenage years). Seriously, there is nothing quite like holding the child of your child in your arms. The great part is for some unexplainable reason when they are old enough to know who you are they seem to adore you, unlike their parents!

The Heartbeat
I am at the almost grandmother stage. I went this week with my daughter to hear the heartbeat at her sonogram. It is so exciting, I can hardly wait !!! July cannot come soon enough.

Introducing Alivia
My life changed in ways I could not imagine on October 7, 2007. Alivia Jade Kehoe was born in Bronx, New York to my oldest daughter Erin and Steven Kehoe. She had a difficult entry into the world, but it was only a harbinger to what life held for her. She is hearing impaired. Strangely, when something like this occurs you go through the grieving process. At 6 months she was fitted for her first set of hearing aids and began speech therapy. Although I would love desperately to hear her call me Nana, my heart melts every time she learns a new word in sign language. She is beautiful, smart and perfect in every other way. I look forward to sharing her milestones with all who are interested.
